Image Concepts and Usage

Image refers to a type of virtual disk file that forms the foundation of virtual machines. Images provide the fundamental infrastructure for users to deploy, manage and launch virtual machines.

In the SkyAtlas Panel, there are three types of images:

  • Standart Images
  • Capsule Images
  • Private Images

Standart Images

Standart images are pre-configured and provided by SkyAtlas for general use. They typically include common operating systems and configurations, allowing users to quickly deploy virtual machines with standard setups.

Capsule Images

Capsule images are pre-configured and provided by SkyAtlas for general use like Standart Images. These images are pre-configured virtual machine images that come with specific programs and software applications already installed. These images are designed to provide users with a ready-to-use environment tailored to a particular use case or application.

Private Images

Users have the ability to create their own custom images based on specific requirements or configurations. These private images are only accessible to the user who created them and offer tailored solutions for their unique needs.
