Volume Snapshot and Backup
This guide explains how to create snapshots and perform backups for volumes in the Block Storage service.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
- Access to the SkyAtlas Cloud.
- Choose a volume for the operations.
- If you don't have a volume, follow volume operations to create one.
Volume Snapshot Creation
List Volumes
Navigate to Volumes section in the Dashboard.
Choose Volume and Open Actions Menu
Select the volume for which you want to create a snapshot and open the actions menu. In the actions menu, select "Create Snapshot"
Provide Snapshot Details
Provide necessary details for the snapshot, such as snapshot name and description.
Confirm and Create Snapshot
Click "Create Snapshot" to confirm and initiate the snapshot creation. From the volume details screen, review the list of snapshots.
List Snapshots
Navigate to the Snapshots section in the Dashboard. List and review all snapshots.
Snapshot Deletion
Navigate to the Snapshots section in the Dashboard. List and review all snapshots. Delete unnecessary snapshots.
Volume Backup Creation
List Volumes
Navigate to Volumes section in the Dashboard.
Choose Volume and Open Actions Menu
Select the volume for which you want to create a backup and open the actions menu. In the actions menu, select "Create Backup."
Provide Backup Details
Provide necessary details for the backup, such as backup name and description.
Confirm and Create Backup
Click "Create Backup" to confirm and start the backup process.
List Backups
Navigate to the Backups section in the Dashboard. List and review all backups.
Backup Deletion
Navigate to the Backups section in the Dashboard. List and review all backups. Delete unnecessary backups.
